Mirror Mirror: A Boudoir Session About Seeing Yourself Clearly

Mirror, mirror, on the wall. The fairy tale question has always been about who is the fairest of them all, but this gallery asks a better one: what do you see when you really look at yourself? Mirror Mirror places the client beside an ornate gilded mirror surrounded by red roses, in a black satin slip trimmed with lace, patterned lace tights, and layers of gothic silver jewelry.
A Concept With Meaning Built In
Many clients come to their interview and intake conversation with a feeling rather than a theme. They want to see themselves differently, or finally see themselves the way the people who love them already do. A mirror concept gives that feeling a visual shape. The reflections in this gallery are not just a styling trick. They are the point of the session.
Styling the Fairy Tale, Gothic Style
The set pulls from classic fairy tale imagery and gives it a darker twist: the gilded frame, piles of red roses, pink satin pillows, and a skull resting on dark bedding just out of focus. Long red nails, statement rings, and an ornate silver pendant add to the gothic storybook mood.
Reflection as Composition
Shooting with a mirror takes planning. The team works out angles in advance so both the client and the reflection land exactly where they should, sometimes sharp together, sometimes with one softly out of focus. The result is a set of images that feel layered and intimate, like catching a private moment of self-recognition.
What Do You Want to See?
Whatever you hope to see in your own reflection, whether that is confidence, softness, strength, or someone you have not met in a while, share it during your consultation. The team will build the concept around it.
